Day 19 Butte,Mt to Wise River,Mt
We rode 50.5 miles and had 2900 ft of elevation gain. Rolling out of Butte we stopped at Walmart. We had to resupply our food. More oatmeal, peanut butter, tortillas, and Ultima Replenish to enhance our water. We started out on pavement that led to a single track trails. I'm glad it was only 2 miles. We had a great dirt road to the top of our climb to over 7000 ft. At the top Doug and I stopped for lunch. Two riders riding south bound like us, and four riders riding north bound all showed up at the top of the climb. It was fun to compare stories of the ride. The descent to the highway was very fast. We opted out of the legendary Fleecher ridge trail. It's a 1500 ft climb in a mile. It reaches a grade of over 30% and is deemed unrideable. We took the alternate route to Wise River. We are staying in the town hall. For $20 we get indoor sleeping, a flush toilet, a full kitchen, and WiFi. Good night!

Sounds like Sub-team stupid is getting wiser!!?! How long did it take you to decide NOT to ride that legendary ridge? Living your pictures and blogs! - Happy 4th🎉Sharon
