Day 44 Ohiopyle, Pa to Cumberland, Md
Day 44 Ohiopyle, Pa to Cumberland, Md 76 miles. So the thunderstorm and rain kept me up until about 1. I got up at 6:15 but still did not roll out until about 9. I was on the Great Allegany Passage all day to Cumberland. The first 50 miles was a 1-2% climb along the Casselman River up to the Big Savage tunnel. When I came out of the tunnel it was like I came into a whole different world. That last 20 miles was a downhill fun fest. After going through the tunnel I crossed the Mason Dixon line. I chose to get Motol room in Cumberland tonight. I need to dry out my tent and fly.

Looks like a really cool ride today! That appeared to be the cleanest tunnel I’ve ever seen!?! You almost can smell the saltwater - ha! Ha! I hope the rest of the ride is dry with tailwinds ~
