Day 9,10, and 11
Day 9 Newport,Wa to Bull River Campground 75 miles. Betty dropped me off in Newport, Wa and I headed towards Sandpoint, Idaho. I rode hwy 200 along the north end of Lake Pend Oreille through Hope, and Clark Fork. I camped at a wonderful USFS campground, Bull River.
Day 10 Bull River campground to Dunn creek campground 70 miles. I rode Hwy 56, to Hwy 2, then to Hwy 37. Stayed at Dunn Creek Campground. I did pass through Libby, mt.
Day 11 Dunn Creek to Eureka, Mt 55 miles. I climbed big rolling hills most of the day. I had a killer head wind the first 20 miles. At one point a gust almost knocked off my bike. Hwy 37 followers Lake Koocanusa goes forever. It goes up into British Columbia. It was a tough day with some big climbs. I'm staying in Eureka's city park.
Sounds another couple days of beautiful USA countryside. Keep an eye, or 2, out for Bears.....Not Smokey or Yogi or even Boo🐻🐾
ReplyDeleteThe roads look empty - is that true? Logging trucks? The weather and route look absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Campgrounds Rick.
ReplyDeleteI remember screaming at the wind because there was nothing else to do or direction to go. And the gear just makes it harder to break through. It’ll only make you stronger my friend!!
Powerful riding, Rick. 👍. Hope you held your breath thru Libby. But after dropping off excess gear, you're still packing a paper book? Think Kindle app, dude. Sheesh. 😁
