Day 20 Cameron, Mt to West Yellowstone
Day 20 Cameron, Mt to West Yellowstone 61 miles. Beautiful sunrise to start the day. For a good part of the day I followed the Madison River. I don't know how many float boats on trailers past me, but it was a lot. Then all those vehicles went the other way with empty trailers. There were lots of them on the river and the people were fly fishing like crazy. Today I learned how Quake Lake was formed. In August of 1959 a 7.5 magnitude earthquake created a landslide that blocked the Madison River. There was a campsite where 28 people were killed. With in 3 weeks 5 mile long Quake Lake was formed. I'm staying in West Yellowstone tonight in the Junior Smoke Jumper building. It's a non profit group that has saved and restored several log cabins. I got Jim's name and number from a West bound rider.
So kool ......
