Day 16 Lolo, Mt to Sula, Mt

Day 16 Lolo, Mt to Sula, Mt 74 miles. It was a nice easy ride today. I rode the Bitterroot Trail from Lolo to Hamilton then it was back on the road. I stopped in Hamilton  at the Bitterroot  Brewing  Company  for a great lunch of fish  and chips. I asked them if they could give me more coleslaw  and no fries. I would have loved to have a beer but I  still had 38 miles to ride. Past Darby I  rode by the ranch where they film Yellowstone. The picture  of the mountain with the peaky peak is Trapper Peak, 10,280 feet. It's  one of my top ten day hikes. A lot of the road past Darby runs next to the East Fork of the Bitterroot  River. No time to stop and look because there was zero shoulder.  I got to the Sula store to find it closed and the campground full. I'm  sharing  a campsite with two more cross country  riders. The East Fork is 50 feet from my tent.

  3. First time I read "easy day" in your posts....that's great you needed one of those. Beautiful area you are going through, and very cool that you can always find other riders to to share a camp spot. RideStrong Rick!

  4. Regarding campgrounds being full; do you ride around looking sad until someone has pity or do you go into active begging mode right off the top? Love the pix!!!!
