Day 5 Colonial creek to Mazama, Wa

Woke up to blue skies and a little chill in the air. The first 35 miles I  climbed,  4860' to Rainy Pass then 5477' to Washington Pass. A total of almost 5100'. Of course it rained and hailed on me the last 1 1/2 miles up to Rainy Pass.  The last 25 miles was all downhill to Mazama, Wa. Used my Warmshowers app and got a great family that took me and my new German  friends in to camp in their back yard.

  2. Pretty wild weather extremes, but the Natural Wonders and New Friends made up for I'm sure.

  6. No surprise on Rainy Pass - I’ve never seen it dry there! Did you end with double shots of tequila in Winthrop like Bob and Doug?🤣 Who are your German friends?

  7. You will have a day when you want to quit, that will be the hard day you keep to yourself.
Warms showers sounds like a dream, wish they had those is 1988😂.
Love watching and reading your posts Rick, you inspire me and hope to be riding with you and eating Beekmans ice cream again on RAGBRI someday! That’s one of my goals in life! So, please be careful!
