My route across the country is set
Well training for the ride is going very slow. Ski season is over so I can concentrate on getting ready for the ride. I have 2 months before I roll out. I have mapped out my route, if I have figured it right I'll be riding 3860 miles. I start in LaPush, Wa on June 18th and ride the Olympic Discovery Trail to Port Townsend, Wa. I'll take the Whidbey Island ferry and ride to Anacortes. Then get on Highway 20 that I will follow to Newport, Wa. Making my way to Sandpoint, Id, Clark Fork, Id, Libby, Mt then to Whitefish, Mt. I hope to ride through Glacier National Park if they have the Going to the Sun Road open. I'm headed south from East Glacier and going to West Yellowstone. I'll be exiting Yellowstone at the East entrance. I'll be crossing Wyoming going through Cody, Basin, Buffalo, Gillette, Devils Tower, then in to South Dakota. I'll pass through Spearfish, Rapid City, Wall, Midland, Chamberlain, Springfield, Vermillion, Jefferson, then Iowa is next. I hope to ride Ragbrai starting in Sioux City July 23rd. It ends in Davenport July 29th. From Davenport I am riding rail trails all the way to Washington DC. I'll spend some time with my sister and nephew in Vienna, Va then make my final push to the finish at Rehoboth Beach, De. The route is subject to change and I really don't know how far I'll be riding a day. I think somewhere between 60 and 100 miles.
Good luck!
